While occasional anxiety is a normal part of life, chronic or overwhelming anxiety may require professional help. Symptoms may include excessive worry, fear, restlessness, irritability, muscle tension, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and sleep disturbance. 

Depressive disorders encompass a spectrum of conditions characterised by persistent and profound feelings of sadness, hopelessness, changes in appetite and sleep patterns, fatigue and a pervasive lack of interest or pleasure in daily activities. These disorders significantly impact an individual’s emotional wellbeing and overall functioning and sometimes individuals may even experience thoughts about death or suicide.

Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions characterised by unhealthy eating habits, extreme concern about body weight, and a distorted body image. Individuals with eating disorders often exhibit behaviors related to food, eating, and weight control that significantly impact their physical and emotional well-being.

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition resulting from exposure to traumatic events, such as combat, assault, accidents, or abuse. Symptoms include intrusive thoughts, avoidance behaviors, negative changes in mood and thoughts, and heightened arousal.

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterised by persistent, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours or mental acts (compulsions) aimed at relieving anxiety or preventing feared outcomes. These behaviors can significantly impact daily life and relationships.

Burnout is a state of chronic physical and emotional exhaustion, often accompanied by feelings of cynicism and detachment from responsibilities. It is commonly associated with prolonged exposure to high levels of stress and demands, particularly in the workplace.

Negative body image involves a distorted perception of one’s own body, leading to persistent dissatisfaction and feelings of inadequacy. It includes self-disparagement, social comparison, avoidance of social situations, excessive focus on appearance, and can impact mental health. Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition characterised by obsessive focus on perceived flaws or defects in one’s appearance, which are often minor or nonexistent.

Low self-esteem is characterised by a negative perception of oneself and a persistent sense of inadequacy or worthlessness. Individuals with low self-esteem often harbor critical views about their abilities, appearance, and overall value.

Grief and loss work in therapy refers to the process of addressing and navigating the emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical reactions that individuals experience in response to a significant loss.

Interpersonal difficulties encompass challenges in communication, conflict, boundary setting, and forming and maintaining relationships.

Couples counselling, or couples therapy, is a form of psychotherapy designed to help romantic partners improve their communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their emotional connection.

Our ADHD Assessments assess whether you meet the criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Our assessments are facilitated by a fully qualified psychologist and include an initial interview, testing, a cognitive assessment and a feedback session. You will be provided with a report.
