Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy
At The Victorian Psychology Clinic, we aim to manage appointment times fairly and ensure that care remains accessible to clients who are waiting for appointments. Our cancellation and non-attendance policy is outlined below.
Cancellation or non-attendance within 24 hours
If you do not attend your appointment, or cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, you will be charged 100% of the session fee.
Cancellation within 48 hours
If you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time, you will be charged 50% of the session fee.
Rescheduling to telehealth
If you are unable to attend your appointment in person, you may be able to change your appointment to a telehealth video or phone consultation instead of cancelling. Please contact the clinic in advance to arrange this.
Emergencies and special circumstances
We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can occur. If this applies to you, please contact the clinic directly to discuss your situation. Any exceptions to this policy will be considered at the discretion of management.
Please note that cancelled or missed appointments are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Psychologist cancellations
Our psychologists also aim to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, or offer telehealth as an alternative to a face-to-face session where appropriate. However, we acknowledge that unavoidable circumstances may occasionally arise.
If your psychologist needs to cancel an appointment at short notice, we will notify you as soon as possible and work with you to reschedule your session at the earliest opportunity. You will not be charged for an appointment cancelled by your psychologist.
We apply this policy to ensure appointment times are managed fairly, while remaining reasonable and understanding of genuine emergencies. By booking an appointment with The Victorian Psychology Clinic, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation and non-attendance policy.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your circumstances, please contact our team on (03) 7018 1716 or email support@vicpsychclinic.com.au.
